What Is a Mobile Gold Washing Trommel?
A mobile gold washing trommel is an alluvial gold circuit in trailer form: feed handling, scrubbing, screening and gravity concentration travel as one unit. Operators treat it as a machine rather than a plant - it follows the pay streak, works until the deposit is exhausted and relocates for the next one. The GMTS range covers six capacity classes on one platform: GMTS0519 at 5-10 t/h through GMTS1848 at 150-200 t/h, with drive power scaling from 1.5 kW to 30 kW. Selection is a sizing exercise, not a sales pitch - tell us your planned tonnage and the top feed size (≤300 mm up to GMTS1225, ≤400 mm from GMTS1548 up), and the right model falls out of the table. The machine photographed above is a GMTS1548, our reference build for mid-size alluvial work: 80-150 t/h on an 11 kW drive, with an overall package of 8.46 × 2.30 × 2.50 m that moves by trailer between sites. Standard Build of the GMTS Mobile Gold Washing Trommel
The standard build answers to GMTS engineering drawings rather than to a component catalogue - every unit ships with the same tested core:
- Feed hopper with 6 mm high-manganese wear liners on channel-steel framing, plus a bolted operator platform.
- Round-bar grizzly with 30 mm bars; bar spacing fixed at order time; an I-beam grid option for boulder-heavy loads.
- Spray manifold across the hopper and drum to wet the feed and keep the deck clear.
- Sizing section with two woven high-manganese decks - 25 mm inner openings over a 6-10 mm outer deck, both set to your contract spec.
- Drive and chassis: diesel or electric drive train, towable chassis rated for the assembled plant.
Inside, the stream is worked in one pass: the spray manifold and the tumbling mass disintegrate soft clays, the inner deck holds back coarse stone that rolls out through the side chute, and the slurry that passes both decks carries the gold onward to the recovery package.
Recovery Packages: Specified, Not Assumed
Recovery is specified rather than assumed - and the mobile gold washing trommel leaves the factory with your chosen package already plumbed and wired:
- Package A - Mat sluice. A polyethylene-carpet sluice for coarse gold and tight budgets; the base fitment on starter lines.
- Package B - Concentrator set. Two to four fully continuous centrifugal concentrators treating the -6 mm fines; the recommended fitment when flour gold dominates, and the package behind the fine-gold recovery figures quoted for GMTS lines.
- Package C - Finishing. A 1.1 kW 6S shaking table plus a 10-15 kg smelting furnace with 100-1,000 g moulds, converting accumulated concentrate into doré bars on site.
