Trommel screen is a robust, high-efficiency mechanized separation and screening device used in a cylindrical drum to separate solid matter. Trommel screens come in different sizes to suit the different jobs you need to do. In addition to being portable, they're also made of durable materials to reduce the chance of wear and tear. These characteristics make trommel screens suitable for a wide range of industries and applications.

- How to use trommel screen to select materials?
After the sieve is properly installed in the trommel machine and the material to be sorted is fed into the hopper, the conveyor will deliver the bulk material to the screening drum. There is a spiral design in the trommel to move the waste in the rotating drum. Rotation increases the chances of the material making contact with the screen.
This action forces undersized material out of the drum and onto the lower conveyor below the screen. The lower conveyor moves this material onto the cross conveyor, which loads onto the discharge conveyor. On the other hand, larger materials reach the end of the screen because they are too large to pass through the screen. They are then expelled through the back end of the screen. If you are using a larger machine, it can be equipped with a conveyor at the tail of the trommel screen, and the large material is transported to a distant place.
2. What is the purpose of trommel screen?
Our trommels are used in a wide range of industries to sort large volumes of material. Initially, trommels were used to sort wet material, the rotation of the wet material through the trommel increased the end area with air, speeding up the drying process that would otherwise dry out for weeks before sorting. The centrifugal motion of the spiral causes the air to mix with the moist material. This will partially dry them, reducing the chance of blinding and clogging.
Because trommels are designed to sort dry and wet materials, you can use them for:
- Agriculture
You can introduce trommel screens in your fertilizer plant to ensure only high quality products are packed. On the farm, you can use it to sort topsoil, mulch, and even wet compost.
- Mining
The mining industry relies on drum screening to separate precious metals and scrap, saving time and money. In iron ore mining, the conveyor can be equipped with a magnetic separator, which screens out the iron lumps after passing through a sieve.
- Architecture
If you work in the construction industry, you can use trommels to sort gravel, sand, and even construction waste.
- Waste management
Waste management is demanding as tons of waste is transported to the site every day. With trommel screens you can sort waste in a fast time. Screening allows you to separate large pieces of waste for sorting and recycling, and smaller pieces for landfill.
- Landscaping
As a landscape architect, you often need to organize an entire compound down to the smallest detail. With a trommel you will be able to sort small stones, soil and wood chips. This allows you to landscaping more efficiently.
