Classification of centrifugal concentrators

Dec 10, 2024

There are three common new and practical centrifugal concentrators:

Centrifuge concentrator

1. Falcon centrifugal concentrator
This is a vertical centrifuge with two concentrate discharge methods: intermittent and continuous. Falcon B centrifuge uses intermittent concentrate discharge, that is, after stopping, the concentrate is flushed from the drum to the bottom of the drum and then discharged from the hollow main shaft.

Falcon C centrifuge is a continuous discharge, that is, the concentrate is continuously discharged to the outside of the drum by a device consisting of a series of planar integral flow storage tanks, clamping valves and discharge ports.

B-type machine can be used for fine particle recovery with low yield requirements. For example, the recovery of fine-grained monomer gold and tailings scavenging.

C-type machine is suitable for rough selection of fine-grained gold, fine-grained coal, recovery of iron and tin fine mud, etc. At present, the solid processing capacity of large-scale C40 centrifuges can reach 200t/h, and the feed particle size is less than 20 mesh.

2. Knelson centrifugal concentrator

This equipment has been used in Canadian industry since 1980. Its sorting mechanism consists of two vertical concentric drums.

The sorting principle of the Knelson centrifugal concentrator is based on the difference in centrifugal force acting on the ore particles on the one hand, and the fluidization and loosening effect of the backwash water on the other hand. Due to its superior working performance, the Knelson centrifugal concentrator has been widely used in many new and existing gold concentrators.

3. Superbowl centrifugal concentrator

This equipment is a new type of centrifugal concentrator developed and produced by Falcon Gold Concentrators, Inc., Canada.

Because this centrifuge can recover monomer gold well under high feed conditions, it has been sold to 12 countries in the world for rough gold selection, gold recovery in grinding circuits, coarse concentrate selection, and for ore dressing tests.
